For any type of protective hairstyle, I normally keep it for about 2-3 months and I usually pay $100. The most I’ve ever paid for a sew in was $245 max and I just got it done yesterday.
I am going to reschedule and take it down in August around the same time, get the same girl to install the bundles back in since they were on the expensive side.
I love my new stylist and she’s pretty quick but I think she charges more because of the area she does hair in. $245? I’m about to keep this in 2-3 months and just do washes in between.

For feed-in braids I keep them in for 4-6 weeks. For knotless & box braids 8-10 weeks

until they fall off the bone, but typically as long as possible especially in this economy and with these prices. But for braids, I usually do touch ups at least once and then wear for about 3 or 3.5 months

I personally hate knotless because they do not last long and the your hair starts looking raggedy after 4 weeks. Its a waste of time and money and quiet as kept knotless is not protective at all it tugs at the root. The knot or box in box braids is what keeps it secure. And don't get me started on boho or goddess knotless braids.

4-6 weeks. I get afraid of my hair getting too dry and dirty. I do my braids myself.

I find knotless less stressful because it doesn't use as much hair so the style is a lot lighter which means less pulling. They're also not going to be tight to the scalp. They do look more worn faster but that's okay for me.

For the person that put a vomit response, I specifically stated that I get a touch up which includes taking down some of the braids, washing my entire hair and then rebraiding those parts. And I still regularly wash my hair and oil the scalp getting braids and removing it less than 1 month is something I cannot get behind ever

6 weeks max. I barely last more than 4 weeks though. I need to wash my scalp.
Which is why I rock my wash and go puff most days

You don't wash your hair/scalp when it is braided?

Makes sense my only real grip with knotless is the maintenance and that I can't wear it as long so to me it feels like a waste of money aside from special occasions because of the price point. I have seen people charging $500 and up for basic knotless. Luckily I still go to my childhood braider but I fear she may retire soon and I will have to duke it out with the IG girlies

My knotless I'd keep in for 4 months or sometimes longer. I maintain them well by washing oiling and keeping them wrapped unless I'm going out. Also I get smedium size which is easier to maintain.
Currently wear boho and leave in spray is my saving grace. One spray and it removes tangles..oil them down and wrap
The most I've paid was 475(with tip) but now I go to an African Braiding Shop paying 220

3-4 weeks. My hair starts to shed badly and get really tangled up if I keep styles in too long. It feels like a waste to only keep them in a month but my stylist and I agree it's what's best for my hair.
